'R' rated movies appropriate for outdoor events?
I just found out that for one of my upcoming movie events, the customer has chosen to show Step Brothers. This event was booked through a relationship I have with a local candy store, so up until now, I have had no conversations with the customer. The problem is that this movie is rated R, and IIRC, pretty vulgar. Do I just let the customer show whatever they want, or should I have some sort of 'PG-13' max guideline in place?
I'm not sure why someone would show a movie like this in their backyard, even if this turns out to be an 'all-adult' event. Most customers like the volume turned up, and who wouldn't? But, do you really want all the neighbors hearing an hour and a half of curse words coming from your backyard?
And then, what if there are children present? Do I need to step in and say "No, I won't allow this"? Not sure what to do. I'll at least talk this over with the candy store owner, and request to make my concerns known to the customer. But, beyond that, I don't know what else to do.
