While looking into using Quicken, I discovered a few documents from Intuit (the makers of Quicken) which I thought might be helpful to some. These are free downloads BTW.
The first is what they call a Consultants Guide:

It covers some topics such as:
Bookkeeping methods (Cash vs. Accrual basis)
Tips to avoid an audit
Business types - legal structures (LLC, etc.)
What to charge (fee structures)
Plus some other helpful links
The second link is to a "How to Incorporate Guide" (also from Intuit):

You will need to provide your name and email address. This guide basically covers in more detail the different advantages/disadvantages of LLC vs. Sole Proprietor, etc.)
The last is a place with a bunch of information on starting your own business. I didn't have a chance to look over much, but it seemed to have some good information:
