I figured I would post this here. I recently posted about a rained out movie party
. Here's a little background on this event; it's a great type of event to market to schools:
I am showing 2 movies (actually the same movie twice) at a local elementary school. They have an annual "Field Day" where they break up the school into 2 groups by age. Then the kids compete in a series of outdoor contests, relays, etc. While one group is outside, the other group is inside watching a movie. Then they switch. This will be the 3rd year for this school.
A good marketing idea is to send a promotional flyer to local elementary schools and offer this type of service. Some schools budget for the school year sometime in September, so they would need to be contacted early. Other schools have general funds, and could be contacted in the first few months of the year. Most "Field Days" occur in the spring as the temperatures start climbing. I'm going to add this to my marketing list for next year. I'll probably do 2 mailings to all schools in my area; one mailing in September, and then another mailing in January or February.
