Default Wii Party

Did a Wii party and I was not a big fan. The thru put was very slow and had more annoyed kids than anything else. Are there certain games that lend themself for this type of an event? They did bowling I wanted to gouge my eyes out.

I find that it depends on the number of kids, as well as the game(s) being played. Wii Sports can work, but only with a few kids. Dancing games like Dance Dance Revolution work pretty good. The key is that each song is only a few minutes long, so the turnover is faster. The best game from our experience is Rock Band (or any variation, like Guitar Hero World Tour, etc.). Four players at one time, and again, each song is only a few minutes long, so the turnover is great. The downside to Rock Band type games is the amount of additional equipment and set up required.

I guess I like I a movie because I can go chill for two hours. With the Wii I felt like one of us needed to be present. The birthday girl was also a little out of control which led me to wanting to hit her in the head with a fake Wii tennis racket. Kidding of course.

I market gaming a little, but have never had an inquiry. I probably should set it up and give it a try sometime. I only have older game systems though, I am gonna have to get a system from a family member.
